Getting Started with pplShare

Okay. So you have a pplShare site. Now what?

pplShare is a powerful platform with many capabilities.  Given the capabilities, it is sometimes tough to decide what to do first. We understand. We’ve put together some information to help you get your pplShare site up and running as quickly as possible.

Step 1: Walk through the ‘Quick Start for PTO/PTA Admin’.

It is available in our help section (www.pplshare.com/help) and on your pplShare site. By following this guide, you will both be learning how to use the basic features of pplShare and developing important content that will be useful to parents as they join the site.  (If you are feeling especially adventurous, walk through the rest of the Help guide and start exploring the system.  Don’t be afraid – you can always delete any content that you create.)

Step 2: Bring the parents on-board.

On your pplShare site, we have provided a Parent Sign-up template. Modify this template to create your own Parent Sign-up Flyer. It’s quick and easy. Broadcast the message out by all available means – ‘Back-pack Express’, e-mail, school phone bank, PTO/PTA newsletters.  Let them know that this is now the primary means by which the PTO/PTA will communicate with the parent community.

Step 3: Monitor Parental Sign-up.

Parents are busy and don’t always respond to the first call to action. Track the number of parents that sign-up and continue to reinforce the sign-up message. As word spreads and momentum builds, you will see the parents come on board.

With an understanding of the system and the parents on-board, it is now time to use pplShare to the fullest. In coming posts, we’ll explore some Best Practices that we’ve seen our customers use to get the most out the pplShare capabilities – e-mail, volunteer management, fundraising with pplShare, group coordination, event communication, etc…

And remember. We are always here to help. Don’t hesitate to e-mail us at support@ppldevices.com with any questions/concerns/feedback. We want to help you be successful!

Sincerely,
The pplShare Team
